H-LAM ink series suitable for gravure printing on various substrates viz PET, BOPP.

H-LAM ink series is an ink series developed for reverse gravure printing of flexible films, suitable for lamination using good quality solvent based and solvent less adhesives. H-LAM inks are used for high profile lamination jobs.

APPLICATION:

The H-LAM series can be used for in-line / off-line process with a wide range of printing speeds ranging from medium to high speeds printing and lamination machines (200-400m/min) with electronically engraved cylinders. For the use of H-LAM at other speeds or gravure conditions, please contact Klassico local Technical Department.

The H-LAM series covers the general applications in packaging printing. It is recommended for printing of different types of laminating structures (chips, snacks, etc) which may or may not need pasteurisation or sterilisation (depending on the pigments used, contact Klassico Technical Department).

SUBSTRATES

  • Bi-oriented polypropylene**
  • Co-extruded polypropylene**
  • Chemically treated polyester
  • Corona treated polyester*

* Due to the features of these substrates, in-line corona treatment is recommended.

** Needs addition of adhesion promoter (Minimum 3% addition just prior to printing).

The appropriate ink adhesion is always obtained with correct corona treatment. A film is considered correctly treated when its minimum surface tension is in between 38-42 dynes/cm for BOPP and 48-52 dynes/cm for PET.

Due to the great variety of films available in the market, it is recommended that laboratory scale trials are done prior to the industrial printing of these substrates. To print on substrates not on this list, please contact Klassico local Technical Department.
